AU Commission Chairperson appoints Mohammed El-Amine Souef as new Special Representative to Somalia and Head of the AU Transition Mission
The UN Security Council Resolution 2767 (2024) endorsed the African Union Peace and Security Council’s decision to replace the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) with the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) with effect from 1 January 2025.
