PRESS RELEASE

(For Immediate release)

ATMIS PR/11/2024

Mogadishu: On this occasion of Somalia’s 64th Independence Day, I congratulate the government and the good people of Somalia. This day is an opportunity for us all to reflect on and celebrate Somalia’s remarkable journey towards peace and stability. The progress the country has achieved is a testament to its resilience and determination.

I particularly want to acknowledge the brave and gallant Somali Security Forces whose tireless efforts to combat extremism in Somalia are truly heroic. They are the modern-day heroes of Somalia who have rekindled the spirit of the country’s founders who aspired for a peaceful and stable nation.

Somalia is regaining its position in the international community. This resurgence is due to the sacrifices and resilience of the Somali people, guided by the visionary leadership of H. E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

ATMIS remains steadfast in its commitment to stand with Somalia in its ongoing efforts for lasting peace and stability.

As you celebrate this Independence Day, know that your courage and perseverance continue to inspire us all. May Somalia continue to grow stronger and more prosperous with each passing year.

Happy Independence Day.
