Mogadishu, 2 May 2021 – The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), extends warm wishes to the government and the people of Somalia on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and congratulates them for successfully completing the obligatory fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
As we celebrate this year’s Eid al-Fitr, ATMIS salutes the Government and the People of Somalia for their collective contribution towards the attainment of sustainable peace and security in the country, and for their spirit of reconciliation and compromise which allowed for the successful conclusion of the Parliamentary elections and the subsequent election of the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Senate and the House of the People.
ATMIS re-affirms the African Union’s continued commitment to working with the Federal Government and the people of Somalia in the implementation of the Somalia Transition Plan (STP).
