ATMIS condemns mortar attacks at Halane Base Camp in Mogadishu
Mogadishu – The African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) strongly condemns the mortar attacks launched at the Halane Base Camp last night by the terrorist group, Al-Shabaab.
The attack resulted in the death of a UN Guard Unit member and caused infrastructure damage.
ATMIS extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the fallen soldier and stands in solidarity with the entire UN family during this difficult time.
Despite the recent Al-Shabaab attacks at the start of the new year, ATMIS remains deeply committed to working with the Federal Government of Somalia and the Federal Member States in the fight against terrorism.
